I am pleased to share that the administration has decided against introducing legislation concerning the County’s Inspector General tonight.
I have heard from many constituents and county residents who had been concerned about this bill’s impact on the independence of the position from political influence. I too had the same issues with the draft legislation I saw, and I am relieved that the administration listened to the many concerned voices across the county regarding this issue.
I was proud to vote in favor of the establishment of this position earlier this term and I continue to have great confidence in the Inspector General’s work.
