To all of the residents and families from District 3 of Baltimore County,
Below you will find a letter from Wade to the Executive Director of the Maryland Racing Commission, regarding what Wade believes to be an effort to evade public input on the highly controversial issue of adding an off-site betting facility to the Timonium Fairgrounds. Just last week, Wade learned of plans to hold a public input meeting with almost no notice on the issue of adding an off-site betting facility to the Maryland State Fairgrounds. As a representative of this community for more than forty years, Wade knows that this is an issue community members have long objected to and have much to say regarding. Wade requests that you as neighbors and residents educate yourselves on the issue below and immediately contact interested parties at the provided contact information to join the effort to postpone this meeting. This is an issue that is at the heart of our family focused community, and Wade intends to do everything in his power to ensure that your voices and concerns are able to be heard on this important and divisive issue. And please share this information with your neighbors so that their voices might also be heard. You can review an agenda for the proposed meeting here.
As always, Wade welcomes your feedback via email, social media, or in the comments section available below.

Thank you for this information.
I completely agree this hearing must be postponed to allow our communities to provide informed input.
Please add my name to any list of citizens in support of your demand for a postponement until at least April.
Sure looks like a “railroad” effort to me.
Sincerely,
Richard Stanley
Thank you for this information Wade! I am not for off track betting at Timonium Race Track. Please include me as a concerned citizen against this attempt to change the nature of our area just for that sake of making money.
Pretty sad that the Jan 21 Balt Sun reported that “the facility is nearly complete and a grand opening is planned for next week”. In other words, the work has been ongoing, people in Towson knew about it, since they must have issued building permits, and the citizens were kept in the dark until the last minute. Actually, after the last minute. Yes, looks like a “railroad” effort.
The hearing should be cancelled forever.

How can the MSF&AS llc open a bar without public input? If they are allowed by license to do so then how can they remain non profit corporation? If MSF&AS is not the license holder then who is and how and when did that review happen?
I support a postponement of the meeting regarding an off-site betting facility at Timonium Fairgrounds.
I support a postponement of the public input meeting regarding the off track betting site being proposed for Timonium Fairgrounds. I also DO NOT SUPPORT off track betting at Timonium Fairgrounds for the reasons that you stated in your letter. Please add my name to the appropriate lists. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.
