Baltimore County Wins $2.25 Million Grant Award for Rural Broadband Expansion

Dear Constituents,

I am so pleased to share that Baltimore County will receive $2.25 million in grant awards from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and administered by the Governor’s Office of Rural Broadband to significantly expand access to rural broadband in Baltimore County. This will expand broadband access to nearly 900 homes in the northwest area of Northern Baltimore County.

This is a critical significant step in the right direction for securing Broadband access for truly all.

My thanks extend to the County Executive, the Office of Information Technology and Baltimore County’s Cable Administrator, and for the advocacy of the North County Community Group for securing this critical milestone.

The expansion of rural broadband access continues to be a major priority of mine as we continue to close the digital divide.

For more information, please see the County’s official press release here.
